Little League Baseball®, the world’s largest youth sports organization (in more than 80 countries and all 50 states), has officially launched its Diamond Anniversary year, announcing an exciting slate of programming that celebrates the fundamental values of the program – community, family, friendly competition and relationships that last a lifetime. The Anniversary will be celebrated at the 7,000 local Little Leagues around the world, and the millions of volunteers, alumni, families and players are encouraged to share in the celebration.

About Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO A graduate of Loyalsock and Woolrich Little Leagues in Pennsylvania, parent of two Little Leaguers® and full-time Little League® staff member since 1980. Responsible for the expansion of Little League Baseball® World Series from eight teams to 16 teams in 2001 with the construction of Volunteer Stadium, the growth of Little League’s use of technology in service to local volunteers in communities worldwide and the launch of two new divisions, Junior League Softball in 1999 and Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball in 2013. Thanks to these initiatives, Little League has seen additional growth in countries like Australia, Brazil and Uganda and throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. Mr. Keener’s achievements in service to Little League also include the successful negotiation of television contracts, first with ABC Sports and now with ESPN.
