Author Christopher Long

Christopher Long – C’mon! – My Story of Rock, Ruin and Reve

Raised in Springfield, Missouri and Orlando, Florida, Christopher Long is an author, show biz analyst, musician and speaker.

Based on his personal twenty-year relationship with the multiplatinum-selling band Poison, Long’s behind-the-scenes rock and roll memoir, “A Shot of Poison,” arrived in stores and at online retailers via CG Publishing on April 1, 2010. By July, it had reached #3 on Amazon’s Top Rock Books chart.

Long was first lured into the professional rock and roll world in 1978 at age fifteen. That’s when he promoted his first national level concert event as a junior high school student government project. By the 1990s he was responsible for bringing such national acts as Marilyn Manson and The Southern Rock All-Stars to clubs and concert stages throughout Florida’s Space Coast.

From 1985-1997, Long was also the frontman for the outrageous, Florida-based, award-winning hard rock group Dead Serios. Over the years, the band released six independent albums and performed coast to coast with such ‘80s arena acts as Cinderella and Anthrax as well as with ‘90s chartbusters such as Hootie and the Blowfish and Faith No More. Dead Serios scored a college radio hit in 1989 with the rap/metal single, “Butterbean Queen,” and has been featured in such national publications as “Billboard” and “Thrasher.”

Following what he refers to as his “spiritual awakening” in 2010, Long began developing his second book – a bold message of faith entitled, “C’MON! – My Story of Rock, Ruin and Revelation.” (Coming January 17, 2012 via Digital Books International)

From book signings to music-related events to charity fundraisers, Long currently juggles a hectic year-round schedule and in 2012 he will be making appearances as an inspirational Christian speaker, sharing his personal testimony in churches around the country.

He continues to contribute lively entertainment and political features to such various online and print publications as Ink19.com and “Brevard Live.” Long also enjoys an active role at East Coast Christian Center near Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he lives with his teenage son, Jesse.
