TOPIC-Glass Petals
Borrowing from ageless folk while adding heavier rhythms, Glass Petals bases it's sound around strong vocals, intelligent lyrics, and unique band arrangements that consist of various strings, horns, percussion, and textures. Emotionally charged, the songs swell and collapse like an avalanche down a mountainside. At the heart of the group is singer/guitarist/composer Tim Smisek. Initially forming the band in Chicago, the self-titled debut album was recorded with an exceptional collective of musicians. Together, the collaboration engraved a new definition of modern music, and it's ambitions have been well received. After it's successful birth in the United States, Glass Petals shifted base to Paris, France. Reformed and freshly influenced by it's European surroundings, the band has been hitting the concert scene and is currently in the studio working on a their second album. Already featured on numerous radio stations around the globe, given a front-page artist spotlight on YouTube, nods by a President Obama website, acknowledged by reviews, blogs, and podcasts, the music is gathering significant momentum. Honesty has never felt this good. So be true to yourself, and let Glass Petals shatter the current lens through which you look at the musical world.
