Malcolm Out Loud is the host of the National TV Show "Malcolm Out Loud" found at http://malcolmoutloud.tv. For over twenty years, health care spending has been steadily increasing and according to many health officials, much of it can be traced to the costs related to obesity. Right now, medical related costs of obesity are around $147 billion per year. The current projections have stated that by 2030, almost half of the U.S. population will be considered obese and the burden to the taxpayers will be in excess of $500 billion. Currently, around 36% of the U.S. is obese and if we don't aggressively bring our weight down, we will not be able to contain our health care costs.
