LPKS Rep

The Libertarian Party of Kansas (LPKS) was founded in 1971 and has had full ballot access in Kansas since 1992. Since 2009 we have been the fastest growing political party in Kansas. Our party’s commitment to Liberty makes it popular with voters who have previously identified as both ‘left’ and ‘right’. While the LPKS is an affiliate of the national Libertarian Party, we focus on state and local issues. Our party principles hold that all solutions are best when found on the most local possible level; as such we look to the national Libertarian Party only to address issues not feasibly addressed at a more local level. The Libertarian Party of Kansas (LPKS) is dedicated to the advancement of maximized individual liberties and local control, while limiting government expansion. Our goal is to elect liberty-minded individuals who are committed to advancing a free-market economy, civil liberties, local control, and personal responsibility for our actions. We need your help to return our state government to being “for the people” and to give a voice to the good, honest, and creative people of Kansas. Help us by changing your voter registration to Libertarian today & voting for Libertarian candidates who share your principles and values. Podcast of the interview Download:

Roseanne Motillo

Roseanne Motillo

The Lady and Her Monsters by Roseanne Motillo brings to life the fascinating times, startling science, and real-life horrors behind Mary Shelley’s gothic masterpiece, Frankenstein. Montillo recounts how—at the intersection of the Romantic Age and the Industrial Revolution—Shelley’s Victor Frankenstein was inspired by actual scientists of the period: curious and daring iconoclasts who were obsessed with the inner workings of the human body and how it might be reanimated after death. With true-life tales of grave robbers, ghoulish experiments, and the ultimate in macabre research—human reanimation—The Lady and Her Monsters is a brilliant exploration of the creation of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley’s horror classic.

Ingrid Hart, M.A.

Ingrid Hart, M.A.

TOPIC-
Author: "My Year In California ~ a journey toward midlife renewal."

While the book I've written is set in California, it's a universal "heroine's journey" story. Nationwide, there 78 million baby boomers born between 1946 and 1964. This is an audience of men and women who share cultural references, music choices and, like me, are doing the important work of introspection and examination that calls to us at midlife. Baby boomers, fans of history, and spiritual seekers will be riveted to this courageous, page-turning adventure of freedom, liberation, challenge, conflict, and the universal longing to find our way home. Long after readers finish this ground-breaking book on midlife renewal, they'll be asking themselves: How far would I be willing to go outside my comfort zone to discover who I really am? What new choice will I make? These personal answers may set readers on the path of self-discovery, and perhaps, their own journey toward renewal.

THE MINERVA PROJECT

Bob Kerrey

TOPIC-
THE MINERVA PROJECT Building the University of the Future An Ivy League education without the crushing debt – this is what The Minerva Project, billed as” "first elite American university to be launched in a century," hopes to provide. While the demand for degrees from prestigious universities continues to be high, these institutions are not expanding at a great enough rate to keep up and this new school offers a solution. Former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerrey (who serves on the Minerva Project Advisory Board), calls it “the single most important innovation in higher education in my lifetime.” A recent piece in Time magazine explains, that Minerva is a “first-of-its-kind hybrid of old and new in which there is no campus and students take all of their classes online, but live together in traditional dorms.” Students will also rotate through various countries during their tenure and as Minerva Founder, Chairman and CEO Ben Nelson elaborates, he wants its graduates to become cosmopolitan citizens of the world. Minerva will help professors tailor materials to each student and Nelson believes it’s even better than a conventional education. With another announcement of the “Minerva Prize” (modeled after the Nobel Prize selection process), Minerva hopes to continue to bolster its profile and attract top talent to become the elite university of the future.

Bob Kerrey is the Executive Chairman of the Minerva Institute for Research and Scholarship and serves on the Minerva Project Advisory Board. As of January 1, 2011, Bob completed his tenure as seventh President of The New School, a university founded on strong democratic ideals and daring educational practices - an environmentthat was well suited for his leadership. Prior to The New School, Bob represented Nebraska in the United States Senate. Prior to serving in the U.S. Senate, Bob served a single term as Nebraska’s Governor working to balance its budget, partner with the private sector to create jobs, improve the quality of Nebraska’s schools, college and university, and protect Nebraska’s fragile soil and water. Bob served three years in the United States Navy as a Navy SEAL and won the Medal of Honor. Prior to his naval service, Bob graduated from University of Nebraska in 1966.

Stutz Sales Pro

Elinor Stutz

Elinor Stutz Founder of SmoothSale A vision came to me while at Stanford Hospital lying on a stretcher with a broken neck. I had one of those near-death experiences you read about but never happens to you. My life flashed in front of me in the form of a report card. On the left hand side, I had very high marks, but the right hand side was startling – it was blank and entitled Community Service! I instantly recognized a need to begin giving back to communities at large. I vowed that if I were able to walk out of the hospital, I would begin doing just that. It was on that stretcher while waiting to be admitted, that I wrote my first business plan – to help others near and far understand how to take their natural talents and convert those into sales and grow business. Elinor Stutz is the CEO of Smooth Sale, an Inspirational Speaker, Author and Trainer. Elinor 's International Best-Selling book, “Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results” published by Sourcebooks was featured in TIME Magazine, translated into multiple languages and sells worldwide. Years of community service work teaching groups of job seekers how to land the job they desire led Elinor to writing her second book, “HIRED! How to Use Sales Techniques to Sell Yourself On Interviews” . Revealing all she learned through the years and on the stretcher that fateful night, comes her third book, INSPIRED Business ~ A New Vision for Building Business and Communities. The theme of the book is, Believe, Become, Empower. Audiences term Elinor's talks as both inspirational and motivational, and claim through her insights they more readily found success. You may find Elinor teaching webinars for entrepreneurs, training corporate sales teams, teaching students and job seekers how to interview best and earning standing ovations at conventions. “It is no use walking anywhere to preach, unless our walking is our preaching.”??When I think of Elinor Stutz this quote comes first and foremost to my mind. Elinor is an amazing example for me as I continue to grow and expand in my own business! Not only is she the perfect client, but also she is often one of those people that I feel that I should be paying instead of the other way around. Just reading her writing, getting the opportunity to listen to her trainings and speaking with her regularly has been such an incredible gift in my life. Many times in life, people teach one thing and practice another in their own lives. Elinor most definitely not only teaches but also walks her talk. If you are looking for someone to help guide you in your business to reach new heights and levels that you can only imagine in your mind then Elinor is my recommendation. She has all of the elements of success that I have found to be necessary in today’s unstable climate. She is Honest, She has Integrity, She is Committed 110% to herself and her own business and She clearly understands the importance of Collaboration and uplifting those that uplift others! All my respect and Love, ~Malathy Drew ~ http://whisperingenergy.com

INSERT BOUT THE TIOPIC

Once upon a time – 2005 to be specific – Academy Award Nominee Roger L. Simon got together with Charles Johnson (the blogger behind Little Green Footballs) and Glenn Reynolds (the blogger behind Instapundit) to create a new blog that would shed light on issues important to Americans through insightful reporting, commentary and analysis. The mainstream media tried to dismiss them as disgruntled people blogging in their pajamas. They rejected the evaluation but adopted the name, and PJ Media was born. What began as an online blog site in 2005 has grown into the must-read website you are visiting today. Renamed PJMedia in 2011, this is the place where you will find news delivered in its most insightful form. Read the exceptional reporting of our influential bloggers including Victor Davis Hanson, Michael Ledeen, Claudia Rosett, “Spengler” David Goldman and many more. And check out our lineup of PJ Columnists including Zombie, Barry Rubin, Roger L. Simon and Stephen Green where their take on a story is often comical but always right to the heart of the matter. Don’t miss the PJ Tatler for breaking news and gossip from inside the beltway. And consult PJ Lifestyle for the latest on TV, music, movies, fashion, technology and food. At last count, 1.4 million unique visitors come to www.PJMedia.com each month and consume 20 million page views of our content. And those big numbers keep getting bigger. We want to count you in that number too. So, enjoy today’s visit, and come back often. There’s one more big idea we want to share with you. Beyond covering and commenting on the news, PJ Media is on a mission. We call it voices from a free America. Our voices work to … • keep speech free in our society and media, • ensure free thinking in our schools and media, • encourage a free and prosperous economy, • rid our children of massive government debt and an overreaching government, • and defend, protect and preserve what made, and will continue to make, America great. Alexandra Allred

Alexandra Allred - Author of Damaged Goods, White Trash, and Roadkill

TOPIC-
Alexandra Powe Allred graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in History, saying, "As everyone knows, once you get a degree in history, all you can really do is teach or write. I'm just doing what I can!" As the daughter of a (now retired) U.S. Diplomat, Allred traveled all over the United States and around the world. Her writing career began before graduation with several pieces on bi-lingual education with national education publications. But the real stories began while living as a youth in Moscow, Russia. Under a communist regime, imagination and the ability to create stories was the very best way to beat boredom (and the freezing cold!). As her career was taking off, Allred embraced her second passion -- sports. She trained for and made the U.S. women's bobsled team in 1994, becoming the first U.S. National Champion. She was named Athlete of the Year by the United States Olympic Committee and garnered much worldwide attention as she was also 4 1/2 months pregnant at the time! Her training regimen was (and is) used by the United States and International Olympic Committees for pregnant athletes. Following her retirement from the sport in 1998, Allred returned to the literary world with The Quiet Storm. While living in the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, she was able to talk to Olympic and National athletes from all disciplines and share with sports enthusiasts. From there, her career was launched. She did adventure freelance writing for Sports Illustrated, Muscle & Fitness for Her, and Volvo magazines. She held a sports column, worked as an editor for NOW magazines outside Dallas, Texas and began working as a Clean Air advocate, often testifying before the EPA. Today, she writes (mostly) fiction, teaches kinesiology classes for Navarro Community College while enjoying her family and animals in Texas. Date Recorded: 8/14/2013

J.D. Cronise

The Sword

"Before forging the blade, the swordsmiths underwent fasting and ritual purification. They then worked at their anvils in white clothes, like the robes of the priests. Their efforts were well rewarded." One of the foundations of the metal revival of the past ten years, Austin TX's The Sword have released two flawless slabs of vintage heaviness on Kemado Records, toured the world with Metallica, and were one of the first bands to lock into a whole new legion of fans through Guitar Hero. This summer, the band casts its gaze to the stars for Warp Riders, their third full-length and their most ambitious effort to date. Warp Riders is The Sword's first concept album, a science fiction maelstrom put to the storming, relentless riffage and pounding rhythms upon which the band has staked its reputation. It's also their most flat-out, supercharged, adrenaline-pumping work yet, a chrome-plated war machine that lords over the blackened sky. From the street-prowling anthems "Night City" and "Lawless Lands" to the two-part showdown of "The Chronomancer," to the furious mechanics of closing track "(The Night the Sky Cried) Tears of Fire," The Sword forces eminent domain ruling over heavy metal for the next decade, and welcome all challengers for an ill-fated shot at the title. Warp Riders tells the tale of Ereth, an archer banished from his tribe on the planet Acheron. A hardscrabble planet that has undergone a tidal lock, which has caused one side to be scorched by three suns, and the other enshrouded in perpetual darkness, it is the background for a tale of strife and fantasy, the battle between pure good and pure evil. How it's told – through the dueling lead guitars of J.D. Cronise and Kyle Shutt, and the concussive rhythm section of bassist Bryan Ritchie and drummer Trivett Wingo – underscores the narrative with molten steel and unreal precision. Guitarist and lead vocalist J.D. Cronise explains the lineage of Warp Riders: "I'm pretty sure the first concept album I ever heard was Operation: Mindcrime by Queensrÿche when I was a kid, which I was way into. Even though I never really understood the whole story, I was nonetheless enthralled by how the album created its own world. I wanted to create a setting for our songs that would be unique and different, but still a place where epic sagas unfold in proper Sword fashion." Inspiration took hold from "lots of things … the legend of Atlantis, old Heavy Metal magazines, the films of René Laloux, a childhood dream, and The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda to name a few." The story of Warp Riders, entitled "The Night The Sky Cried Tears Of Fire" (written by Cronise), follows Ereth as he discovers a mysterious orb and meets the Chronomancer, a being beyond time and space who enlists him in a quest to restore the planet's balance. Along the way he encounters strange warriors, mysterious witches, ancient androids, and a crew of space pirates with a vessel that will alter the course of history… a vessel known as, The Sword. DAN PERKINS – Nationally Acclaimed Author of “The Brotherhood of the Red Nile” and Terrorism Expert

DAN PERKINS – Nationally Acclaimed Author of “The Brotherhood of the Red Nile” and Terrorism Expert

TOPIC-
United States May Secretly Be Governed under Sharia Law not the Constitution Guest: Dan Perkins – Nationally Acclaimed Author of “The Brotherhood of the Red Nile: A Terrorist’s Perspective” and Terrorism Expert Is the United States secretly being governed under Sharia Law rather than our Constitution by the White House? Step back and set your politics aside and look how the President has handled negotiations with House and Senate Republicans over the budget and the debt ceiling. Now look at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who contends Iran is using conciliatory gestures (Elap Nedeef) as a smoke screen to conceal an unabated march toward a nuclear bomb.” This comes after the new President of Iran denies the construction of a nuclear bomb to Washington. These instances contain two example tenants of Sharia Law, which are blatantly apparent. These two tenants are Elap Nedeef and Taqueya. Dan Perkins, a noted author on terrorism, believes that President Obama and other Muslim supporters in the legislature may be secretly governing the United States under Sharia Law rather than by the Constitution. He’s willing to expand upon his theory to the public by discussing these topics. How can Sharia law be used in America and supersede our Constitution? What is the Taqueya rule and how is it apparent in the debt ceiling and budget negotiations by our President with the House and Senate? What is Elap Nedeef and how is it apparent in Iran and their communication with the world regarding their nuclear program? How are Muslims allowed to break the laws of Islam under Sharia law without consequences?

Is the author of a Trilogy on terrorism called the Brotherhood of the Red Nile. He has been on Radio and TV and been interviewed by newspapers about his books. Dan believes that money is at the root of terrorism and taking away or diverting America’s wealth is a way to bring America under Islam control. With 40 years of global investment experience Mr. Perkins is uniquely qualified to talk about financial implications of terrorism. His book web site is http://danperkinsatsanibel.com and has links to his interviews and more information about him.
