Rabbi Menachem Genack

Rabbi Menachem Genack
TOPIC-
Letters to President Clinton Biblical Lessons on Faith and Leadership "Over the years, these individual missives were invaluable to me in addressing the challenges of leadership and public service...I'm delighted to see this collection published. I can only hope that its wisdom may enrich others' lives just as it did mine." - BILL CLINTON, foreword LETTERS TO PRESIDENT CLINTON (Sterling Ethos, October 2013) celebrates a unique, widely unknown chapter in President Bill Clinton’s history – a written dialogue between him and prominent American Orthodox rabbi Menachem Genack that spans more than 15 years. The two men first met when then-governor Clinton was just beginning his road to the White House. As their friendship deepened, Genack started sending Clinton essays highlighting spiritual insights from the Bible. On the heels of Clinton’s request, Genack took a more formal approach, also inviting many of his distinguished acquaintances – Bible scholars, political leaders, scientists, clergy members, and laypeople – to contribute. LETTERS TO PRESIDENT CLINTON is an inspirational collection of more than 100 of these mini-sermons. The book features a foreword by President Clinton, and includes copies of his handwritten notes.

About the Author Rabbi Menachem Genack is rabbinic administrator and chief executive officer of the Orthodox Union's Kosher Division, overseeing the certification program of some 7,000 food-production facilities in 80 countries. The Orthodox Union ("OU") is America's oldest Orthodox Jewish communal organization, embracing over 400 synagogues across North America. Rabbi Genack was founding Chairman of NORPAC, a political action committee that supports a strong US-Israel relationship. He has traveled with President Clinton to Israel several times, and has published and edited numerous books on Jewish thought and law. Genack is the General Editor of OU Press, and is Rabbi of the congregation Shomrei Emunah in Englewood, NJ. Podcast of the interview Download:

MILLION-COPY BEST-SELLING AUTHOR SAYS PEACE IS ONLY FOUND WHEN YOUR PAST IS CONFRONTED Shannon Ethridge, author of the best-selling Every Women’s Battle series, releases first novel “This story explores love and sacrifice and the effects of our decisions. It will grab you and not let go. Anyone who reads Shannon’s nonfiction books knows she hooks you with her narrative, and now she’s put that skill to great use in her first novel!” —Shaunti Feldhahn, best-selling author of For Women Only and The Veritas Conflict Best-selling author Shannon Ethridge brings her twenty years of expertise in sexual integrity and healing to her first novel (Thomas Nelson; October 2013). To Know You is a compelling story illustrating the timely message that only after confronting and exposing the past can true peace and healing be found—though the temptation remains to bury the secrets sins in the name of appearing to have it all together. Julia Whittaker, Ethridge’s brave protagonist, is trying to move on from a rocky past that yielded two daughters both given up for adoption, when she is forced to find them to save the life of her son who is dying, and his only hope for survival is a ”living liver” transplant. In a powerful story illustrating the power of forgiveness and the freedom many desire, To Know You reaches Ethridge’s millions of fans with a story they asked Shannon to write for many years. The story is personal for Ethridge who has spent her career in ministry speaking about overcoming her past of sexual promiscuity and the freedom she discovered. She notes: “I know what it’s like to be haunted by sexual ghosts from your past. The only way to reconcile a rocky past is to allow those emotions we’ve kept bottled up down deep inside to finally have a voice. The main character in this novel, Julia, vividly paints a portrait of what that journey looks like for her – sometimes gracefully, sometimes not-so-gracefully.”

About the Author: Shannon Ethridge is a best-selling author, speaker, and certified life coach with a master’s degree in counseling/human relations from Liberty University. She has been featured on The Today Show and MSNBC, and is a frequent guest on international radio & television shows. Shannon has been speaking to college students and adults since 1989 and is the author of 20 books, including the million-copy best-selling series, Every Woman’s Battle. Date Recorded: 10/22/2013

TOPIC-
‘NADIA’S OBSESSION’: THE STORY OF A HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, AUDACIOUS WOMAN AND HER ENCOUNTERS WITH POWERFUL MEN Author Charles D. Martin returns with second book in ‘Provocateur’ series this August NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Rich and powerful men, beware – the sexy heroine who notoriously preyed on alpha males in writer Charles D. Martin’s “Provocateur” is back and more daring than ever in his newest release, “Nadia’s Obsession” (Aug. 27, 2013, Chaney-Hall Publishing). Following Martin’s enthralling debut novel, “Nadia’s Obsession” marks the return of Nadia Borodina, a cleverly seductive leading lady who uses her superior feline assets to succeed with alpha males and get exactly what she wants. Nadia grew up in a Russian orphanage and made her way to America as a mail-order bride. After meeting an ex-CIA agent, Nadia’s life changes forever as she is propelled into the high life with powerful men. In Martin’s second book, the battle of the sexes continues between Nadia and a wealthy Russian oligarch. “Martin has crafted another engrossing tale of seduction, cyber mischief and international intrigue, featuring Nadia Borodina of ‘Provocateur’ fame, a woman other women want to be, and all men want to have, but only the reader truly wins,” says David Ward, Academy Award-winning screenwriter for “The Sting” and nominee for “Sleepless in Seattle.” In “Nadia’s Obsession,” Martin once again explores the power that audacious women hold over men. The book is brimming with intrigue, sexual tension and brilliant dialogue. “I love writing about strong, intelligent, independent women… they are sexy and fun,” says Martin. Martin grew up in a small Ohio town and later established a pair of successful investment firms. He now runs a hedge fund, Mont Pelerin Capital LLC, and serves on investment boards for prominent universities. Martin and his wife live in southern California.
Last summer, author Charles D. Martin seduced readers with his debut novel “Provocateur,” and this August he will mesmerize fans again with the sequel “Nadia’s Obsession.” Martin grew up in a small town in Ohio. His parents were poor, but he was able to put himself through college by working two jobs. Martin later had a highly successful career in venture capital and private equity. He founded a pair of investment firms that he managed for two decades. He runs a thriving hedge fund, Mont Pelerin Capital LLC, and serves on investment committees for prominent universities. His wealth of knowledge about people, finance and technology translates well in his novels. Martin’s first book, “Provocateur” (August 2012, Chaney-Hall Publishing), invited readers into the intriguing world of Nadia Borodina, a Russian orphan who comes to America, is thrust into the high life of powerful men and transforms into a crafty femme fatale. “Nadia’s Obsession” (August 2013) continues her story with bold twists and Martin and his wife, Twyla, live in Newport Beach, a picturesque coastal town south of Los Angeles. Ben Barrack

Ben Barrack

TOPIC-
There’s a reason I chose the tagline, “Let’s Talk About Something Important” for my program. Just watch any network or cable news channel for one hour and you’ll see why. They all seem to revel in the inconsequential and the innocuous. Then spend an hour listening to one of my programs. Upon doing so, you’ll want a “Barrack-aid” number. A “Barrack-aid” is someone who wants to “aid” in getting the truth out by circumventing the mainstream media. Due to the power the MSM has, that has to be done by “barracking”. If you want to get a “Barrack-aid” number, all you have to do is ask via email or by calling into the show. Just remember though that the earlier you get your number, the lower it will be, and the lower your number, the higher your Barrack-aid rank. “Barrack” isn’t just my last name. It’s also a verb that means, “to urge and encourage, especially by shouting”. While I am occasionally prone to some righteous admonition with a raised voice and, at times, extended rants in the face of injustices that should anger everyone, actual shouting is kept to a relative minimum (sort of) and humor is always right around the corner.

It's really not an original costume and is often a choice for the uncreative types. Celebrity Outgoing individuals tend to dress up like celebrities because it almost guarantees they'll get lots of attention. Gross / Scary Horror is popular in pop culture and if a person goes for the gross and scary costume, chances are they will be low key individual who don't seek the limelight. Disney / Cartoon Character This is a safe choice that is G-rated for all audiences. It's a people pleaser and often worn by someone who doesn't prefer to rock the boat. Super Hero Kind hearted individuals tend to flock to these costumes as they wish to help others and be seen as making a difference. Funny / Original When you see a costume that make you look twice of three times, chances are the wearer of that costume is an A-type personality and highly creative individual who probably spend the past 9 months creating their costume. Congress Costume Considering how unpopular congress is today, anyone who would dress up like them probably enjoys being scorned and reviled. People who dress up like members of congress this year should probably seek professional counseling. No Costume Likely a choice of people completely out of touch with their inner child or those who feel they are "too mature" to be dressing up in costumes. They have the potential to bore people physically to death.

Mary Mann

Mary A. Mann, author of There Are No Enemies: A Practical Philosophy of Life Mary Anneeta Mann is descended from Australian pioneers. She obtained the B.A. with honors in English from Sydney University, M.A. in Drama from the University of California at Berkeley, and the Ph.D. in Communications and Drama from the University of Southern California. Mary Mann's father was an 'original' ANZAC, a member of the Australian New Zealand Army Corps, who fought on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915 and throughout the Great War, or the First World War. Children of Anzac were raised with a sense of intense privilege but also huge responsibility, as they represented the unborn progeny of their fathers' mates, those 'blood brothers' who died in that war to end all wars. Their covenant was broken in 1939 when the Second World War began. A Practical Philosophy of Life is an attempt by an artist turned philosopher, to fulfil a promise made, and is a responsibility honored, to show that war of any kind is scientifically untenable. Her book HUBRIS, The Construction of Tragedy accesses Aristotle's Science of Being Altogether through his Poetics in analyzing the tragedies, Antigone, King Lear, Hamlet, A Man for All Seasons, The Condemned of Altona and Murder in the Cathedral. ThuGun and Natasha is a play for youth audiences that addresses guns and violence in the lives of young people. Maria and the Comet, on the life of Maria Mitchell and The Round Table, which addresses the significance of the United Nations, also for youth audiences, are published in TWO FAMILY PLAYS. Science and Spirituality, co-edited with Rev. Leland Stewart and other compilers, cultivates the spirit of Unity and Diversity among the world's religions and spiritual groups. Blood Flows Deep in the Empire

N. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At the age of three, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother’s handwriting, she began to read and write. By the time she’d reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life. An avid reader in her teens, her fascination with Japanese anime eventually led her to the universe of fan fiction, which became her on-again, off-again hobby for the next ten years. During that time she amassed a following of fans that, by her own admission, she would never be able to live without. It was those fans who encouraged her to step beyond the fan fiction realm and try her talent in the publishing world. N. Isabelle Blanco now has three novellas and two full-length novels under her belt, and spends her days working as an author, web programmer, marketer, and graphic designer. That is when she isn’t handling her “spawn”, as she calls her son, and brainstorming with him about his future career as a comic book illustrator.

LPKS Moment

The Libertarian Party of Kansas (LPKS) was founded in 1971 and has had full ballot access in Kansas since 1992. Since 2009 we have been the fastest growing political party in Kansas. Our party’s commitment to Liberty makes it popular with voters who have previously identified as both ‘left’ and ‘right’. While the LPKS is an affiliate of the national Libertarian Party, we focus on state and local issues. Our party principles hold that all solutions are best when found on the most local possible level; as such we look to the national Libertarian Party only to address issues not feasibly addressed at a more local level. The Libertarian Party of Kansas (LPKS) is dedicated to the advancement of maximized individual liberties and local control, while limiting government expansion. Our goal is to elect liberty-minded individuals who are committed to advancing a free-market economy, civil liberties, local control, and personal responsibility for our actions. We need your help to return our state government to being “for the people” and to give a voice to the good, honest, and creative people of Kansas. Synergi

For three decades at least, researchers have been aware of the synergistic effect of combining antioxidants. The original observations were made when food scientists were exploring the use of natural antioxidant additives to extend the shelf-life of fatty foods. It was discovered that certain polyphenol compounds increased the time that added antioxidants, such as BHT, were effective in protecting foods from oxidation. Out of this work came the suggestion that, while individual antioxidants were unable to increase the plasma antioxidant capacity (PAC), certain combinations showed increases out of proportion to their in vitro individual responses, i.e., they were synergistic. In the light of significant failure to show increased PAC for individual in vitro antioxidants, the search is continuing for stimulants and synergists that might help to explain the elusive mechanism of the therapeutic activity of antioxidant-rich foods.
