Greenburg has had numerous accomplishments in his career with numerous titles to his credit. He is a spokesperson and writer of non-fiction about larger-than-life people. He has worked for collection agencies and used car dealerships. He started writing because of his interest in the sport of football. He has spent a number of years doing historical research on football in the archives of Northwestern University, the University of the Notre Dame, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Chicago and the University of the Pacific. He has served as historian for the All-American Football Foundation and has written several articles for the College Football Historical Society newsletters. John has had the honor of speaking several times at the College Football Hall of Fame and at football reunions for South Bend, Indiana’s Washington High School. He appeared in ESPN’s three-part documentary on the history of college football, “Rites of Autumn”. His most treasured memories include meeting some of the greatest players and coaches in the history of football, and also the extraordinary sea captain Martin Skylark… the subject of Captain Courageous. The experience impacted him so much that he felt it was an opportunity an author receives only once in their career.
